Safety and support at the University of West Bohemia

Are you facing a difficult situation in your life that is affecting your studies? Don’t suffer in silence. We can help you find your way through moments of mental, physical, or social uncertainty, when you don’t feel safe, or when you feel that your rights are not being respected.

Who is who?

Information and Counselling Centre (ICC)

ICC provides psychological, social, career, legal, and other counselling. It handles accommodation and social scholarships and tuition fees. Offers support and counselling services for students with specific needs.

Ombudsman

The Ombudsman independently and impartially investigates situations brought to his attention through complaints, mediates disputes and conflicts, and provides assistance to anyone who turns to him for help in the area of social security.

Security Department

It addresses aspects of physical security, cybersecurity, fire protection, and occupational health and safety.

Ethics Committee

It assesses complaints concerning unethical behaviour, academic dishonesty, or violations of scientific work rules.

Whistleblowing Hotline

It allows anonymous reporting of suspected illegal or unethical behaviour related to economic activity.

Helpdesk

Resolves issues with IT services (e-mail, Wi-Fi, university systems, access accounts, cybersecurity, etc.)
